I bought it from the publisher as well and they shipped early...)Heather Thompson Day's It's Not Your Turn was a challenging read for me. I typically read boring academic-type books that are easy to tune out the practical wisdom that I'd like to ignore.Day did not give me boring reading that I can ignore. Instead, I was challenged by the question of whether or not I'm so aggravated that it's not my turn that I wouldn't cheer for others. Then I saw the value in seeing what we should do in the interim--in those times while you wait.Day's encouragement here is the emotional and spiritual equivalent of pointing out that there is more to do while you wait on your next appointment than playing on your cell phone. While she doesn't quite put it this way, the summary would be: "While you wait to see what God is going to do next, here are the better things to do than play Angry Birds with your life."Her stories are relatable and personal. I was only halfway in when I bought a copy to have sent to my college-aged daughter, because I think there is some great equipping for getting started in life here.I highly recommend this book for you if you're working through points in life that aren't going as quickly or as smoothly as you had hoped. Or if you think you'll ever have that happen. (Note: you will.)
